Swachhta Caravan under SBM Grameen phase -II reaches Block Tikri

UDHAMPUR, April 29: ‘Swachhta Caravan’ an initiative of Directorate of Rural Sanitation, J&K today reached Block Tikri of District Udhampur. 

The Caravan was welcomed by Block Development Council Chairperson Nisha Sharma, DPO Udhampur Manmeet Kumar, BDO Tikri Azhar Khan, BDO Udhampur Sahil Bhagotra, Naib Tehsildar Puran Chand, PRI members, general public and ‘Swachhta Prabahris’ under the overall guidance & supervision of Assistant Commissioner, Panchayat, Dr. Ranjeet Singh Kotwal .

The Programme started with the speech of students on the importance of cleanliness and hygiene and the masses were also sensitized about Swachhta through video clippings and some success stories. The officers of Rural development Department & Panchayati Raj addressed the general public about the motive behind Swachhta Caravan and also generated awareness about Swachh Bharat Mission Phase-II.

To spread the message of clean & Green Village a plantation drive along with Swachhta Rally organized by students of GHSS Tikri with Slogans of “Clean and Green India” was conducted in the Block Development Office Tikri .

The Swachhta Caravan then headed towards Block Narsoo where the similar function was organized near Zum Zum Hotel and finally concluded at Panchayat, Kud –Upper, Block Chenani where pamphlets were distributed among general public to spread the message of   honourable Prime Minister: “Clean and Green India”.
