Swachhta Pakhwada Campaign launched in district Poonch

POONCH, AUGUST 01: The district administration Poonch today kick started Swachhta Pakhwada campaign with a range of activities aimed at promoting cleanliness and sanitation across the region starting from 1st August to 15th August.


The program began with a Swachhta Pledge ceremony, where the officials and the public took an oath to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in their surroundings.


The program also included a cleanliness drive, and a plantation drive held under the themes “Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam” and “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”.


The launch event was presided over by DDC Chairperson, Tazeem Akhter, in the presence of Additional District Development Commissioner Poonch, Sandesh Kumar Sharma along with other senior officials including Assistant Commissioner Development Shafiq Mir and DFO (Territorial) Naveed Iqbal Mirza and others.


While speaking, DDC Chairperson emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the district. He urged the public to actively participate in the ongoing Swachhta Pakhwara activities and contribute to making Poonch a cleaner and greener place.


On the occasion, ADDC also delivered an extensive and informative lecture to the gathered audience, raising awareness about the significance of cleanliness and sanitation in the community.


The Swachhta Pakhwada campaign in Poonch will continue over the next two weeks, with various awareness programs, community clean-up drives, and other initiatives planned across the district.
