Swachta Carvaan traverses across different blocks of Kupwara district

KUPWARA, May 09: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir today flagged-off the Swachta Caravan at BDO Office Langate to spread awareness about maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in our surroundings.

The Caravan traversed across different blocks of the district including Langate, Nutnussa, Drugmulla and Kupwara.

On the occasion, the ADC administered a Swachta Pledge at BDO Office Langate which was attended by BDC Chairman Langate, BDO, besides, ward members and PRIs.

The Swatchta Caravan also conducted different activities including Nukkad nataks, skits and Band Paether to highlight the importance of Sanitation and Cleanliness.

Painting and quiz competitions were also conducted at High School Guloora in Langate block to generate awareness among budding youth.  Besides, Swachhta pledge was also taken by the children to mark a promise for keeping their environment free from garbage.

The Caravan went through various blocks and concluded at Kupwara.
