SWD, Health Department organise one day training programme for VLCs on survey of Substance Abusers in Doda

DODA, DECEMBER 08: Social Welfare Department in Collaboration with Health and Family Welfare Department organized a one day Training-Cum-Awareness programme for Village level Committees (VLCs) on the Survey of Substance Abusers, in Community Hall Doda.

The Comprehensive Training Program was held on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh.

A successful full-day training program was held under the guidance Deputy Commissioner Doda and under the supervision of Tariq Pervez Qazi, DSWO Doda. The focal point of this initiative was Substance Abuse and Nasha Mukt Bharat Programme.

The training session aimed to educate and empower various stakeholders, including Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), Teachers, Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), and Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs). The Participants, including village-level committee members, were sensitized to conduct a house-to-house survey addressing substance use and related products.

The officials present at the training program included TSWO Doda,  Babu Ram, (TSWO), Master Trainer  Tahir Ashraf Wani (Lecturer),  Umar Anayat (Epidemiologist),  Faheem (D&FLO),  Ankush Singh (SI), and officials from the police and social welfare department. The collaboration showcased a collective commitment to combating substance abuse through informed community involvement and awareness.

This initiative, spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner, signifies a proactive approach to addressing the challenges of substance abuse at the grassroots level. The engagement of various stakeholders reflects a holistic strategy to create a Nasha Mukt Bharat (Drug-Free India) by fostering community awareness and active participation.
