SWD Kathua organises Capacity building,Training programme on Drug Demand Reduction

KATHUA, July 20: Social Welfare Department, Kathua today hosted a Three day Capacity Building/Training programme under National Action plan for Drug Demand reduction here in the Conference Hall of DC Office.

The programme was presided over by the District Social Welfare officer. The participants included CDPOs, frontline Anganwadi Workers, ASHA Workers, Social Welfare officials and volunteers.

The main objective of the training cum capacity building program was to acquaint the participants about drug control measures to eradicate it from society.

District Mental Health Officer, Dr. Mukul Ubbott and representative of Life line NGO threw light on the evils of the drug abuse and how the stakeholders can play a positive role in rooting out the menace.  

District Social Welfare Officer Kathua gave a detailed presentation on the importance of early detection of drug abuse and post detection management of drug de-addiction. He further informed that during the three day capacity building programme the stakeholders will be acquainted with different aspects of drug demand reduction so as to make Kathua a drug free district.
