“Symbol of positive energy”: Bihar Governor extends greetings of Makar Sankranti

Patna (Bihar) [India], January 14 (ANI): Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan extended greetings of the harvest festival ‘Makar Sankranti’ on Tuesday and highlighted it as a symbol of positive energy.

The Bihar Governor also conveyed heartfelt best wishes to all those participating in the Maha Kumbh.

“Makar Sankranti is a symbol of positive energy. I hope that it has a very good impact on our lives. Best wishes to everyone for Maha Kumbh. We are also going to attend that 3-day program,” said Arif Mohammad Khan.

Union Minister Chirag Paswan who was also present with the Bihar governor said, “We humbly invited Governor Arif Mohammad Khan for the Dahi Chuda programme. I am grateful to him that he accepted this invitation. I think we all should go (to Maha Kumbh). Now this opportunity will be available only after 144 years. No Indian should miss this opportunity.”

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also wished people on Makar Sankranti and said, “Heartiest greetings to all countrymen on Makar Sankranti, Pongal, Uttarayan, Magh Bihu, Khichdi and Paush Sankranti. These festivals are living symbols of our country’s rich civilization and festive culture.”

“These festivals associated with the worship of nature and the expression of our gratitude towards nature bring new energy, hope and inspiration in life. On this day, let us pledge charity, kindness and dedication. I wish that this festival brings happiness, peace and prosperity in the lives of all of you and may everyone stay healthy. Best wishes once again,” he posted on X.

Earlier in the day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended heartfelt congratulations to all the devotees who participated in the first ‘Amrit Snan’.In a post on X, CM Yogi described this sacred event as a living testament to India’s eternal culture and faith.

“This is the living form of our eternal culture and faith. Today, on the auspicious occasion of the great festival of folk faith ‘Makar Sankranti’, congratulations to all the devotees who earned virtue by taking the first ‘Amrit Snan’ at the Triveni Sangam in Mahakumbh-2025, Prayagraj!” he said.

On Tuesday, during the first Amrit Snan of Mahakumbh 2025 on Makar Sankranti, the Uttar Pradesh government by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath organized a grand flower shower from helicopters, draping the lakhs of devotees at the Sangam bank in rose petals.

Flowers were showered on all the ghats and Akharas, adding to the sanctity of the occasion.

The sight of rose petals raining down overwhelmed the devotees, who responded with heartfelt chants of Jai Shri Ram and Har Har Mahadev.

The Horticulture Department, following the directives of the Yogi government, had been meticulously preparing for the flower showers at the Mahakumbh Mela for weeks. Special arrangements were made to procure and store rose petals to ensure an uninterrupted shower during the bathing festivals, said a release.

Maha Kumbh is one of the largest and most significant religious congregations in the world, held every 12 years at one of four locations in India.

Maha Kumbh-2025, which is Poorna Kumbh commenced on January 13 and will conclude on February 26.

This mega event, expected to attract millions of devotees, tourists, and pilgrims from across the world offers a unique opportunity to showcase India’s cultural, spiritual heritage and tourism potential.
