Tahir Choudhary Urges LG Sinha, CM Omar to Announce Special Relief Package for Ramban
Ramban April: In the wake of the devastating cloudburst-triggered flash floods and landslides that wreaked havoc in Ramban district, senior BJP leader and party spokesperson Tahir Choudhary has appealed to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to immediately announce a special relief package for the affected people of Ramban.
Choudhary expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and the extensive damage caused to homes, roads, public infrastructure and livestocks.
“The people of Ramban are going through an unimaginable crisis. The cloudbursts, flash floods, and landslides have not only taken precious lives but also rendered many homeless and caused massive destruction to property,” he said.
He acknowledged the ongoing rescue and relief efforts by the administration, police, and disaster response teams but emphasized the urgent need for long-term support.
“While the immediate response of the administration has been commendable, this disaster calls for a comprehensive rehabilitation plan and adequate financial assistance for those who have lost everything,” Choudhary said.
Calling the situation unprecedented, Choudhary urged the LG and CM to jointly ensure that a special relief and rehabilitation package is announced without delay.
“This is not just about compensation, but about rebuilding lives and restoring hope,” he added.
He also stressed on the importance of strengthening infrastructure in the region to prevent such devastation in the future.
“Ramban, being a crucial point on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, must be equipped with better disaster management systems,” he stated.
Tahir Choudhary assured the people of Ramban that the BJP stands firmly with them in this hour of crisis and will continue to raise their voice at every platform to ensure timely support and justice.
