Targeting non locals in valley highly condemnable: Dr Manyal

JAMMU ,14 July: Attack on three non-local labourers in Gagran area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district and injuring them by unknown gun men reflects deep frustration in the rank and file of a handful of terrorists, who are disturbed by the return of peace and normalcy in the valley.

In a statement condemning this barbaric act, Jammu and Kashmir BJP General Secretary & former health minister Dr. Devinder Manyal, said that peace and normalcy has been fast restored in the terror hit Jammu and Kashmir, especially normal life returning in valley in all sectors. The change in environment from fear and insecutity to peace can be attributed to the policy of the Union Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which has taken various steps to identify the terrorists and anti national forces, crack the nexus between different terrorist organizations and eliminate all such elements responsible for unrest in Kashmir for decades. Firm resolve to wipe out terrorists has helped in restoring peace, he said and added that only a handful of terrorists may be working hard to mark their existence by targetting the poor labourers belonging to other states, which is highly condemnable.

Dr. Devinder Manyal said that Kashmir attracted record number of tourists from within the country as well as abroad in first six months of this year. It was so because the nature loving people within India and at global level were convinced that today’s Kashmir is as safe as it was thirty years ago and remains to be first choice among many  top tourist destinations.

The successful conduct of the recently held G-20 meet in Kashmir has also sent a very clear message to the entire world that one could travel there with a sense of security.

Dr. Manyal said that peace loving people in Kashmir should come forward in helping the administration by providing information about the movement of terrorists, if any in their surroundings. The people should not forget that terrorism has only consumed  precious lives as well as caused damage to immovable properties, which is irreparable loss for Kashmir and it’s people.

Every such attempt designed to create confusion in the minds of the outsiders that Kashmir is not safe should be foiled, for which civilians should cooperate with the security forces, he said.
