TBS, JU and FICCI FLO organise workshop on “Financial Planning for Entrepreneurial Success.”
JAMMU, October 4: The University of Jammu’s prestigious Business School organised an enlightening event, focusing on the critical theme of “Financial Planning for Entrepreneurial Success” in collaboration with the FICCI FLO Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Chapter.
The Chief Guest of the event, Sh. G. Velladurai, IEDS, Joint Director, MSME Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh, highlighted the entrepreneurial opportunities in J&K, emphasising industries including sheep leather and the apple industry. He inspired the students to aim high and take on the journey towards becoming entrepreneurs. He also highlighted the various funding schemes offered by the MSME to support students in launching new projects. He gave valuable insights into the entrepreneurial landscape of Jammu and Kashmir and also shared the progress report of Udyam registrations in the region.
The event commenced with the formal welcome address by Prof. Vinay Chauhan, Director, The Business School, University of Jammu. He extended a gracious welcome to the guests and highlighted the relevance of the theme of the workshop for the students. He apprised the gathering about the various initiatives undertaken by TBS for student empowerment and institutional building.
Mrs. Varuna Anand, Chairperson FICCI FLO, Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Chapter, ignited the atmosphere with her fervent passion for craftsmanship and her dedication for promoting women entrepreneurs. She highlighted FICCI FLO’s ‘Uday Programme’ that is paving the way for innovation and growth, providing a platform for entrepreneurs to thrive and succeed in the business world.
The invited speaker, CA Samriti Kohli, renowned financial expert and member FICCI FLO, began with sharing her journey as Chartered Accountant and explained the significance of financial planning for entrepreneurial success. She emphasized on the crucial role of fund management in business operations, underlining its significance as the backbone of sustainable ventures. She spoke about the Industrial Policy of J&K and pinpointed the opportunities therein for the youth.
The event saw the enthusiastic participation of the students asking pertinent questions that were duly addressed by the experts. A formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Amisha Gupta, Associate Professor, TBS. She expressed deep gratitude to the distinguished guests by acknowledging their valuable insights and contributions towards the event’s success. The event was coordinated by Dr. Shelleka Gupta, Assistant Professor and the Management Club of TBS.
