Team KCPS attends round square heads’ symposium 2023 in landon

JAMMU January 10: School Chairman Raju Chowdhary and School Managing Director Arti Chowdhary attended Round Square Heads’ Symposium 2023 in London recently. The symposium was attended by more than hundred schools from all over the world. It is an annual event of the Round Square in which heads of RS schools deliberate on and discuss ways and means to implement and enhance the impact of Round Square ideology on young minds. The theme of this year’s symposium was ‘A Sense of Belonging’.

Arti Chowdhary made a presentation on “KC Connect – A Vibrant Parent Community” at this year’s symposium on January 7, which was well received by delegates attending the Symposium from 7 continents of the world.  Round Square Chairman John Connor and CEO Rachael Westgarth were very appreciative of the constant endeavours of KC Public School to live up to the ideals of the Round Square under the inspiring leadership of Chairman Raju Chowdhary and Managing Director Arti Chowdhary.

It was a great honour for KC Public School that Arti Chowdhary was among the four keynote speakers from all around the world. The other speakers were from Ashbury College, Canada, Ivanhoe Grammar School Australia, and Lakefield College School, Canada. Arti’s presentation highlighted effective implementation of Environmentalism and Service ideals of the Round Square at KC Public School with support and participation of the parents’ community.

In her session, she outlined how, through planned and integrated activities of KC Paryavaran Sadan, a sustained and ingrained approach to promote sound environmental behaviour is supported, enhanced and brought to life within the school. She also spoke about school-wide service project, ‘Power of Ten’ and how it mobilizes students, parents and their friends, relatives and acquaintances to create buzz about philanthropy for fund raising to help the underprivileged.

Her presentation highlighted the initiatives taken in accordance with the UN Sustainable goals. The aim of projects such as vermi-composting, creating herbal garden, making of eco bricks and drip irrigation has given students an insight into the present situation of our planet and the need to create environmental responsibility.

Talking about the Service projects at KC Public School, she apprised the RS fraternity how a KCPS student Asechan Chib was motivated to launch a social welfare initiative named ‘Raunak’ to work for the welfare of slum children of Jammu with the purpose of imparting positive direction to their lives by sharing and celebrating joy with them through personalized connection and fun-filled activities.  RS service projects aim at making students socially responsible citizens sensitive of the needs of the underprivileged.

In her address, she also put on record her appreciation and gratitude to parents, teachers, students and stakeholders for making the school grow into a caring community that gives all a sense of belonging.
