The Department of Sociology, University of Jammu organized the Induction programme

JAMMU, January 19- The Department of Sociology, University of Jammu organized the Induction programme for the newly admitted students of the session  2022-23.  The objective of the programme was to make the new batch familiar with the new environment and get them acquainted with the rules and regulations of the institution. During the programme the senior batch students interacted with the newly admitted juniors and shared their experience of the university in general and of the Department in particular.

Earlier Prof Vishav Raksha, Head Department of Sociology in her welcome address congratulated the students for making the right choice of the subject. She further shared that how the different courses in the curriculum are important for career opportunities. While discussing about the structure of the curriculum she explained the role of MOOC and open elective courses also. She highlighted the various achievements of the Department and how all the faculty members work as a family for both the growth of the department and the students.

Later the students of both the semesters showcased their talent and also briefed about their motive and interest for opting the Sociology as a subject. Dr Hema Gandotra, Dr Sapna Sharma, Ms. Kajal Kalsi, Ms Diksha Nargotra and Dr Gopal Sharma the faculty members of the department were also present on the occasion. The entire programme was conducted by Ms Chahat, the Class representative of M.A. 3rd Semester of the Department.
