Theft case worked out, 3 held with stolen items in Doda

DODA, 4 January 2024: District Police Doda has worked out a theft case and arrested 3 thieves involved in the theft case registered against them at PS Doda and recovered stolen property from Channi Jammu on the disclosures of arrested thieves.

Giving details it was told that on 02.01.2024, a complaint was lodged by one Mohd Irfan son of Ghuam Qadir resident Akramabad Doda at Police Station Doda regarding theft of tyres from his workshop at Akramabad Doda.

Upon this complaint, case FIR No. 03/2024 under the relevant section of IPC was registered at Police Station Doda and an investigation of the case started.

Soon after the registration of the case, Police swung into action to identify the thieves involved in the theft. During the investigation, CCTV footage of the incident was extracted and while examining CCTV footage, one load carrier bearing registration number JK19A-2170 was found to have been used for carrying the tyres from the workshop of the complainant. During further investigation, when police enquired from the owner of the load carrier, it revealed that the owner had given his load carrier to the driver namely Shaid Ullah son of Shahab Din resident of Champa Batote.

The driver along with his two other associates namely (1) Sahil Hussain son of Zahoor Hussain and (2) Tariq Hussain son of Mubarak Hussain both residents of Champa Batote were arrested from Batote and during questioning, disclosed that they had stolen the tyres from the workshop and further sold to one Sanjeev Kumar at Channi Jammu.

On their disclosure, the stolen tyres were recovered from Channi Jammu. An investigation of the case is going on.
