Three-day orientation programme regarding Project Based Learning Approach concludes at SCERT J&K

Jammu, 6th Oct.2023 :A three day orientation programme regarding Project Based Learning Approach for the development of skills leading to Innovation & Entrepreneurship wef 4th Oct.to 6th Oct.2023 concluded today at SCERT J&K ,Divisional Office Jammu .

This programme was organized by Department of Art and Vocational Education (Academic Unit-I)  SCERTJ&K Jammu under the mentorship of Prof.(Dr.) Parikshat Singh Manhas ,Director SCERT J&K and able guidance and supervision of Sh.H.R Pakhroo , Joint Director,SCERTJ&K Jammu.

Welcome address was given by Sh.Kishor Kumar, Associate Professor , SCERTJ&K Jammu .Sh.Surjit Kumar Sharma, Professor, Sh. Swaran Singh Jaral, Professor, Sh. N. P. Singh Associate Professor, Dr. Sanjeevani Sharma, Assistant Professor and Mtr. Parveen Akhtar, Assistant Professor were also present on the occasion.

In this programme, 40 participants (DIET faculty/KRPs) were invited from 10 DIETs of Jammu Division, 4 from each DIET .

The aim and objective of this programme was to orient the teachers/masters /lecturers and DIET faculty about Project Based Learning approach for the development of skills leading to innovation and entrepreneurship among  students.

The resource persons namely Ms. Pooja Sharma, Sr. Academic Officer, Mr. Yogesh Kumar, A.O., Mr. Rakesh Chobber, A.O., Ms. Monika Sharma, A.O., Ms. Bindia Balwal, A.O., Ms. Sabah Rasheed, A.O., Mr. Ashok Kumar, A.O. Ms. Meenakshi Chandan, A.O., Ms. Vaishali, A.O. , SCERT J&K Jammu oriented the participants about  meaning and characteristics of Project Based Learning Approach, goals and advantages and skill development of PBL, challenges in adopting, management and designing of PBL , gender sensitivity and PBL approach as a way to Entrepreneurship and innovation.  In addition to this, they deliberated interactive and engaging sessions on management and designing of PBL and online resources as TLM for PBL.

The training programme was coordinated by Ms. Pooja Sharma, Sr. A.O. She was assisted by Ms. Sabah Rashid, Academic Officer, JKSCERT Jammu. Mr. Yogesh Kumar was the technical coordinator. The organizing team included Shamim Nazki, Meena Thakur, Dr.Meenakshi Chandan, Vaishali Singh, Manisha Chun.

In his valedictory speech, Sh. N. P. Singh, Associate Professor highlighted the need to shift the teaching methods from conventional lecture based teaching  to new teaching pedagogies like project based learning ,peer learning and collaborative learning to ignite the spark of innovation and inquiry and instil 21st Century skills among the learners as per the vision of NEP 2020.Vote of thanks was presented by  Ms. Pooja Sharma, Coordinator of the programme.
