Three Year Old Receives Emergency Care at Daraba, Surankote, Poonch
Poonch : 06 Sep 2024 A three-year-old girl Miss Sonia daughter of Mr Rameez Ahmed, was rushed to the medical inspection room of Indian Army at Daraba, Surankote following a fall from a staircase.
The child was brought in with a significant laceration on the right side of her forehead. Medical evaluation revealed that despite the severity of the injury, the child had not lost consciousness, nor were there any signs of ENT bleeding or seizures, which are often associated with head injuries.
The medical team headed by Regimental medical Officer promptly performed suturing of the laceration under strict aseptic conditions to minimize the risk of infection. In addition, the child received an immediate tetanus toxoid to prevent tetanus infection. To address potential infections and manage pain, the child was prescribed necessary medicines. Parents and guardians were thoroughly briefed on the warning signs for monitoring to include excessive bleeding, signs of infection, or changes in the child’s behaviour.
