Traffic advisory: Slow traffic on NH-44 due to nomadic movement & road conditions; SSG road closed, Mughal road open

Vehicles were plying from both sides of the highway, but commuters were advised to be cautious due to the slow movement. The poor condition of the road surface at many places is also contributing to the delays.
Traffic authorities are urging drivers to maintain lane discipline and avoid overtaking, as this could lead to further congestion.
The alternative Srinagar-Sonmarg-Gumri (SSG) road remains closed. However, the Mughal road is open for one-way traffic for light motor vehicles (LMVs) from Poonch towards Srinagar.
