Traffic awareness program held in Secondary, HS Schools across Doda district to promote road safety
DODA DECEMBER 12: A mega traffic awareness campaign was today held at Government Higher Secondary School Boys Bhaderwah as part of a special drive launched in the district to imbibe among the students the habit of following traffic rules and observing road safety norms.
The Awareness campaign has been launched on the direction of the District Development Commissioner, Harvinder Singh, while the events are being supervised by Chief Education Officer Purshotam Goria.
The School Principal Dr. Nazir Ahmed supervised the event which saw active participation of staff, students, and NCC cadets. The program aimed to enhance awareness among local vehicle and bike owners about the importance of adhering to traffic rules for a safer community. In conjunction with the traffic awareness initiative, NCC cadets organized a cleanliness drive, further contributing to the overall betterment of the community. Arif Rana, serving as both a teacher and NCC officer, efficiently coordinated the entire program, ensuring its smooth execution and impactful outcomes.
Similar programmes were reported from GHSS Boys Doda, GHSS Girls Doda, and other Government Higher Secondary (GHS) and Government High (GH) Schools across the district.
During the awareness programs, students played a crucial role by taking out rallies holding placards and engaging with drivers of matadors, autos, and buses operating on different routes. Their efforts were dedicated to sensitizing drivers about responsible and safe driving practices. Additionally, a pledge to follow traffic rules was administered to students, reinforcing the commitment to fostering a culture of road safety. This collaborative effort reflects a proactive approach to instilling responsible behavior and upholding traffic regulations for the well-being of all residents in the region.
