Traffic delays on NH-44: LMVs from Jammu and Srinagar stopped amid vehicle breakdowns, road conditions
Travelers on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) are facing significant delays as light motor vehicles (LMVs) from Jammu and Srinagar are yet to be permitted on the route.
The hold-up is primarily due to a backlog of heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) caused by several factors in the Ramsoo sector.

The congestion began with the breakdown of multiple vehicles, which exacerbated the poor surface conditions of the road. Adding to the challenge are the 90-degree curves near Tunnel 5 (T5), making navigation particularly difficult. Furthermore, the movement of nomadic flocks has added to the traffic woes, causing further delays.
Authorities are actively working to resolve the situation. Commuters are advised to remain patient and to seek the latest updates from the Traffic Control Unit (TCU) by contacting 9419993745 or the toll-free number 1800-180-7043.
Efforts are underway to clear the backlog of HMVs and to address the road conditions.
