Traffic snarls on Jammu-Srinagar highway between Ramban and Banihal due to HMV breakdowns, road conditions
Commuters traveling between Ramban and Banihal are facing significant delays due to a combination of factors causing severe traffic congestion in the region. The primary causes include the breakdown of several heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) in the Digdol area, poor road surface conditions, and the movement of nomadic flocks.

According to local authorities, the traffic movement has slowed to a crawl, with vehicles inching forward at a frustratingly slow pace. The situation is further exacerbated by the dilapidated state of the road surface, which has deteriorated significantly, making it difficult for vehicles to pass smoothly.
Additionally, the presence of nomadic flocks migrating through the area has added to the traffic woes. The flocks, moving across the road, have caused further interruptions, contributing to the already sluggish traffic flow.
The Traffic Police have urged commuters, especially passenger vehicles, to exercise patience, follow lane discipline and cooperate with the authorities.
