Training for POs commences at Kishtwar
KISHTWAR, MARCH 30: In run up to Lok Sabha Elections-2024, District Election Department Kishtwar, in collaboration with the RDD, today conducted a daylong training programme for Presiding Officers (POs) as part of the first phase of general training.
The training programme was presided over by District Election Officer, (Deputy Commissioner), Dr Devansh Yadav.
Deputy District Election Officer Idrees Lone, besides officers and officials of the election department were also present.
The training held in two batches, was imparted to the election staff by NLMT ECI, Riaz Ahmed Butt and District level master trainers (DLMTs) in the Conference Hall of DC Office Complex and Auditorium Hall of GDC Kishtwar.
About 300 POs presented hands-on training which will continue for 10 days.
Speaking on the occasion, the DEO stressed on staff to imbibe rules and regulations in letter and spirit and perform their duties with utmost dedication, zeal and zest.
He also exhorted on other stakeholders to maintain mutual cooperation and support during the election process to make these elections a grand success. Thrust was laid on learning and following timeliness strictly.
Deputy District Election Officer informed that training programme shall continue till all the available manpower is fully trained.
During the programme, Master Trainer imparted training related to EVM and other election related activities, besides deliberating upon duties and precautions to be observed by Presiding officers.
