Training on Beekeeping, Oil Seed Production held in Reasi
REASI, March 04: In continuation to the capacity building program of farmers under HADP a training session on Bee Keeping and Oil Seed Production was organised today in the Conference Hall of D C office Reasi.
Chief Agriculture Officer, Harbans Singh in his inaugural address said that the department was already working towards promotion of oil seed production and new areas are being brought under oil seed cultivation by creating awareness among the farmers about its lucrative economic returns.
The CAO also highlighted the economic potential of Bee Keeping in crop production and said that if adopted on commercial lines, it can really uplift the socio economic status of the farmers.
Technical session was conducted by an expert team from KVK led by Head KVK, Reasi, Dr. Banarasi Lal.
Problems in production of oil seeds besides objectives, targeted outcome and Good Agricultural Practices for oil seed cultivation in the district was discussed in detail on the occasion. Component wise implementation plan for promotion of Beekeeping was also deliberated upon during the training. Agri Assistant (Inputs), Sushil Gupta covered all important aspects of beekeeping through PPT.
Those who participated in the training include District Agriculture Officer Extension Rajesh Verma, District Agriculture Officer Reasi, Ravinder Tripathi, SMS DL, Amit Sharma, ASCO, Varinder Dogra, and Sub Division Agriculture Officer Reasi/Dharmari SMSs, Agriculture Extension Officers and field functionaries.
