Transport Department organises awareness camp at Nagrota
JAMMU, September 06: In a proactive move towards transparency and efficiency, a special camp under the Bhrashtachar Mukt Jammu & Kashmir initiative was organised in Nagrota today.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya and Transport Commissioner J&K Rahul Sharma were chief guests on the occasion. Additional Secretary Road Safety Council, Paramveer Singh, also graced the occasion.
Notably, the event saw the participation of enthusiastic school students from Government Higher Secondary School, Kandoli, who showcased their talent by reciting poems and delivering messages against corruption. The youngsters were administered an oath to stand against corruption.
The DC reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicate corruption from the system, with online services playing a pivotal role. He stressed the collective responsibility of all departments in this mission, with the Bhrashtachar Mukt Jammu & Kashmir campaign being an integral part of this endeavour.
Rahul Sharma, in his address, hailed Jammu & Kashmir as a leader in providing over 1000 online services, most of which are now faceless, allowing citizens to access government services from the comfort of their homes.
Speaking on the occasion, Regional Transport Officer, Pankaj Bhagotra, shed light on the advancements in the Motor Vehicle Department’s online services. These faceless services were highlighted as a means to save time and eliminate the scope of corruption in the system. The simplified procedure for availing these services was also elucidated.
During the program, the public was informed about the array of faceless services available, including the renewal of driving licences, transfer of ownership, issuance of permits and much more. The streamlined procedure for accessing these services was also outlined. Information was also provided regarding the portal vahan.parivahan.gov.in.
