Tripura CM pays tribute to Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya on his 116 birth anniversary
Agartala (Tripura) [India], August 18 (ANI): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Sunday attended the celebration of 116th birth anniversary and paid tribute to Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya at Nuai Hall, Khumulung.
He further thanked Maharani Pragya Debbarman, Convenor of INTACH Tripura Chapter, for curating the exhibition which showcased the rich history of the Tripura royal family.
In a social media post on X, Manik Saha wrote “On the occasion of 116th birth anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, the architect of modern Tripura, joined the celebration & photography exhibition organized jointly by the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council and INTACH, Tripura Chapter at Khumulwng. In presence of Maharaja Pradyot Kishore Debbarman, Chairman Tipra Motha Party, and MP Maharani Krirti Singh Debbarman, paid humble tribute to the late Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya. The exhibition beautifully showcased the rich history of the Tripura royal family. Greetings to Maharani Pragya Debbarman, Convenor of INTACH Tripura Chapter, for curating the exhibition.”
Bikram Kishore Manikya is considered the architect of modern Tripura who was the king of Tripura and was most popular for his prudence and contribution to the modern society and system of the State of Tripura.
Earlier in the day, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha visited the residence of the late teacher Abhijit Dey and assured the family members that the government would do everything to ensure justice.
Abhijit Dey, a teacher and a resident of Udaipur in the Gomati District, tragically passed away on August 10.
