Two days Seminar organised by Sahitya Academy New Delhi in collaboration with Department of Dogri Concludes at Jammu University
JAMMU, September 22: The second day of two-days Seminar organized by Sahitya Academy New Delhi in collaboration with P.G. Department of Dogri organized held at the Seminar Hall of the Department of Computer Sciences, University of Jammu, Jammu.
Seminar started at 10: 30 a.m. with its 3rd session. The session was presided over by an eminent writer Prof. Archana Kesar and three Papers were presented in this session. Dr. Neelam Sarin presented her paper on the History of Dogri Novels. Dr. Sandeep Sufi Presented his paper on the History of Dogri poetry and Dr. Radha Sharma presented her paper on History of Dogri Short stories. All the three papers were highly appreciated by the audience presented in the Hall.
Though, Dr. Goswami raisied few question and gave suggestion also. Prof. Archana Kesar in her presidential address gave very valuable suggestion for the revision of the papers. Session was ended with Tea break and the next and last session of the Seminar started afterward. The last session of the seminar presided over by the eminent Dogri writer Sahitya akademi awardee Prof. Veena Gupta. This session was started with the paper of Dr. Radha Rani on the topic “Hisotry of Dogir Drama. Afterward Dr. Chanchal Bhasin presented her paper on history of prose. Dr. Padam Dev Singh present his paper on “History of Dogri Criticism”.
All the three papers of this last session were highly appreciated by the audience especially paper presented by Dr. Padam Dev Singh raised some very genuine questions before audience as well as scholars. In her presidential address Prof. Veena Gupta also raised some questions and some suggestions regarding the growth and overall aggrandizement of Dogri Language and Literature for the help and inspiration of new generation of scholars, readers and people in general. She summed up the session by appreciating the subjects of the papers and writers with positive note expecting better time ahead. She highlighted the issues raised in papers and individual contribution of the scholars for their better treatment of subject and presentation
Before summing up the two-day seminar by Sahitya Akademi, PadamShri. Mohan Singh, Convener Dogri Advisory board, New Delhi, personally, on behalf of board and participants thanked all the audience, Media and scholars from Department of Dogri, University of Jammu and Professors of Different colleges of Jammu and Kashmir. Sh. Mohan Singh appreciated all the sessions of two-day seminar, paper writers, presiding stalwarts of Dogri and officials involved in making the seminar a great success. Sh. Mohan Singh emphasized and highlighted all the issues raised in papers and sessions with regard to development of Dogri Language and literature with greater participation of public in general with a sense of pride and responsibility towards Mother tongue Dogri. He had special words of thanks to appreciate sahitya Akademi, Dogri Deptt. Jammu University and all the participants
Concluding the two-days seminar on “History of Dogri Language and Literature” Dr. N. Suresh Babu Deputy Secretary Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi commended the hard work of convener and all involved with appreciation particularly for participants and scholars. He Mentioned all the subjects of five sessions of the Seminar, touched upon all the issues raised and gave a saluting gesture to the papers writers, presiding stalwarts and participants of different regions of Jammu and Kashmir. His scholarly concluding remarks were full of appreciations for land of knowledge, i.e, Jammu and Kashmir.
He admired the stream of knowledge of Jammu and Kashmir, scholars, writers and people having paramount interest in preserving and promoting Mother Tongue Dogri. Shri. Suresh Babu himself a great scholar was of positive view regarding the scholars of Jammu and people for their interest in Languages and Literature of Land. He thanked all the involved people for Mesmerizing, brainstorming and enlightening sessions of the seminar which He termed as historic, eye opener and inspiring for new generation. He Congratulated and appreciated all while thanking everyone involved in this trends-setting seminar.
