Two-week students induction programme begins at GCET Jammu

 JAMMU. September 12: Two- week students induction programme for first year  B.E students  batch-2023 began today at Government College of Engineering & Technology (GCET) Jammu.

The program was organized under the patronage of  the College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Sameru Sharma. 

Speaking on the occasion, she said that the focus of the induction program will be to assist new students to adjust and feel comfortable in the new environment. It will also aid them to boost their confidence, creativity, inventiveness, motivation to work for excellence, regulate time management, development of interpersonal relationships and leadership skills.  She  encouraged the students to fully participate in this programme, highlighting its significance in instilling the ethos and culture of the institution, building bonds with other students & faculty members and exposing them to a sense of larger purpose and self exploration.

 Prof. (Dr) Anita Brar, coordinator for student induction program presented inaugural address, where she emphasized  the purpose of conducting this programme for holistic development and personality of the students for living purposefully and to meet future challenges in life. She also stated that the expert lectures by the eminent speakers will change their perception of life and make them as confident and self -assertive individuals.

All the Heads of the departments were present during the inaugural function and encouraged the students to instil the humanistic values, philanthropic spirits and overall nurturing of good instincts.

Lectures were delivered by the eminent resource persons  from reputed institutes/ companies across the country. The  topics covered included  “Mind Management” by   Prabha Slathia from Art of Living, “Skills for Personality enhancement” by Dr. Neena Vij from Central University Jammu and “Scope of Entrepreneurship in J&K” by  Aman Talla and  “Placement scenario in present era”  by Dr. Ajay Abrol, GCET Jammu.

The committee members present during the programme were Prof. Dina Nath, Dr. Raman Gupta, Dr. Heera Saini, Dr. Neerupma, Asst. Prof. Altaf Ahmed, Mr. Balbir Singh, Er. Bharat Bhushan, Er. Neeraj Gupta, Er. Meenakshi Gupta and Er. Karan Kapoor along with students coordinators Mamoon Khan, Avleen Kour, Ahsan Kohli, Nandita Sharma, Sabira Firoz and Ritika Bhat.
