Udhampur admin finalises activity plan for Int’l Day against Drug abuse 

Mass awareness events being held across all blocks   

UDHAMPUR, June 13: To discuss the activity plan and arrangements for the observance of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking under the aegis of Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Joginder Singh Jasrotia chaired a meeting of officers of various line departments in his office chamber.

Detailed deliberations were held on various aspects related to Participation of different institutions in the awareness activities planned for International Day Against Drug Abuse on 26th of June 2023.

Block wise awareness activities, Role and responsibilities of all stakeholders, , organizing the district level programme on 26th June etc were discussed in detail.

During the meeting, Information, Education, GDC Boys & GCW were directed to organize theme based cultural programmes to foster a sense of responsibility in the civil society towards fight against the drug menace in the District.

The meeting decided to rope in people from all walks of life and sensitize the targeted groups about the ill effects of drug abuse. The officers were asked to ensure that the primary objective of creating awareness among the public about drug abuse is achieved.

The ACD was directed to conduct awareness programmes/activities and sensitize the general public about the ill effects of drug abuse in coordination with allied departments in all blocks of the district and host zoom meetings with BDOs regarding observance of International day against drug abuse and Illicit Trafficking under Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan.

Mission Youth was directed to organize sports events.
