Udhampur Admin organises workshop on Good Governance Practices

UDHAMPUR, DECEMBER 23: As part of the ongoing Good Governance Week, District Administration Udhampur on Monday organised a workshop on good governance practices here in the Conference Hall DC Office Complex. Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai presided over the event.


The workshop was attended by SSP Amod Ashok Nagpure; Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh; Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr. Umesh Shan; Assistant Commissioner Development Dr Ranjit Kotwal and other district officers.


Addressing the workshop, the Deputy Commissioner commended the efforts of all participants and emphasized the importance of collaborative endeavors to ensure good governance. She underlined the significance of public outreach camps and online services delivery in bringing governance closer to the people. The DC urged everyone to contribute meaningfully to national progress. She also stressed the importance of identifying and supporting nano enterprises to engage and empower the district’s youth.


Earlier, the workshop commenced with a welcome address by Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh, followed by insightful lectures by the Principals of Government PG College Boys and GCW Udhampur on the theme “Vision of Viksit India by 2047.”


The speakers elaborated on transformative initiatives such as the New Education Policy for fostering critical thinking and innovation, infrastructure development, the Smart City Mission, universal healthcare, environmental sustainability, and inclusive participation to achieve the vision of a Viksit India by 2047.


The event also featured the screening of video documentary of Labour and Employment Department showcasing the role of Mission Youth in fostering entrepreneurship among the youth, video documentary of Agriculture Department highlighting milestones under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme, video documentary of Rural Development Department depicting developments of Amrit Sarovars, Swachh Bharat assets and Awas Yojana beneficiaries.


Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dr. Umesh Shan gave a detailed presentation on the digital transformation of the Revenue Department, including online services delivery via Jansugam and Revenue Plus portals and the digitization of Jamabandis.
Chief Agriculture Officer Sanjay Anand discussed the department’s initiatives under HADP and the benefits of platforms like the Kisan Sathi and Kisan Daksh portals for farmers.
