Udhampur bridge collapse, Billawar girl’s video exposed Govt’s tall claims of development: Rattan Lal Gupta

Says J&K Admin failed on all fronts least bothering about issues raised by over 1.30 crore people of J&K.

UDHAMPUR, April 15: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Jammu, while condemning the government for collapse of bridge in Udhampur, has said that this incident has exposed the tall claims of unprecedented development in J&K being made by the Govt at the Centre as well as the Union Territory Administration. Not only this, the video of a Billawar little minor girl that went viral on social media has shown the real face of so called Modi development by displaying the pitiable condition of her school, he added. This undoubtedly prove that the Govt is making false narratives to befool the people just for garnering votes. 

The senior NC leader expressed this while addressing a workers  meeting at Tikri  (Udhampur) in which he was the Chief Guest. The meeting was presided by Mr Sunil Verma District President Udhampur and organized by Mr Manmohan Verma Block President Tikri.

Rattan Lal Gupta stated that the people of the area had been repeatedly raising the demand of construction of a permanent bridge at Beni Sangam Temple in Chenani Block  but Govt turned a deaf ear to their genuine demand and it is a big shame for the Govt that the temporary bridge that collapsed causing death of a minor girl and  injuries to the scores of people, was constructed by the locals themselves. He said that the culpability of the Govt does not end here it was the responsibility of the administration why the necessary arrangements were not made by the administration and  why the police was not deputed to control the rush in the festival temple.

While praising the girl from Billawar for highlighting the condition of development in J&K, the senior NC leader pooh-poohed the Govt saying that this minor girl showed the mirror of development on ground to the Prime Minister Modi by issuing a video showing the miserable condition of her school that clearly dashes all the tall claims made by the Govt every other day.

Rattan Lal Gupta also raised serious concern over shortage of teachers in Govt schools and medicos in health centres and shortage of govts officials almost in all the government departments. He said that it is a matter of great concern especially due to the fact that the incumbent BJP Govt at the Centre and the J&K Administration has failed miserably on all fronts least bothering about the issues raised by over 1.30 crore people of this sensitive Union Territory of J&K. He cautioned the Govt of J&K not to harass the poor people in the name of new anti-encroachment policy being framed under the supervision of Home Ministry.

Earlier, Sunil Verma, District President Udhampur J&K NC, who apprised the senior functionaries of the Party about the problems being faced by the people of Udhampur district with regard to non availability of basic amenities. He said that the people are fed up with the present dispensation and will show it the door whenever the impending Assembly elections will be held.

Abdul Ghani Malik former minister and Zone President Udhampur Reasi said that while Govt is making tall claims of equitable Govt, the ground situation is quite contrary. He said that the far flung areas of district Udhampur continue to remain totally untouched in terms of development while there is nobody to listen to the woes of common masses across the district.

Vijay Lochan, Provincial President SC Cell JKNC  and Pardeep Bali Provincial Secretary Jammu while cautioning the people asked them to remain vigilant against anti social elements who are trying to divide the people on communal lines.
