Udhampur gears up for MC Elections 2023, hosts training for Nodal Officers
UDHAMPUR, September 09: In the run up for the upcoming Municipal Elections, the District Election Authority Udhampur on Saturday organized an one-day training program for Nodal Officers . The event was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Joginder Singh Jasrotia.
The training covered a wide range of crucial topics, including security arrangements, EVM preparation, implementation of the model code of conduct, SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) activities, expenditure monitoring, media communication, material management, manpower coordination, SMS monitoring, computerization/randomization, and transportation planning.
ADC Jasrotia underscored the importance of Nodal Officers collaborating harmoniously and coordinating effectively to ensure a free, fair, and transparent Urban Local Bodies election. He encouraged all trainees to actively engage in the training programs and adhere closely to the guidelines set by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to ensure a seamless election process.
Additionally, Nodal Officers were tasked with formulating detailed plans and sharing them with the Deputy District Election Officer (Dy DEO) within the provided timeline, ensuring the smooth and equitable conduct of the upcoming municipal elections.
Before the training session, Dy DEO Gurdev Kumar provided valuable insights into the district’s ongoing preparations and activities in readiness for the forthcoming Municipality elections.”
Among others, Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr Ranjeet Singh Kotwal, Additional Sp, Anwar-Ul-Haq, District Information Officer, Rajinder Kumar Digra, Chief Education Officer, Geetu Bangotra and other officers were present.
