Udhampur: KVIB organises awareness camp on PMEGP
UDHAMPUR, March 14: The Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) in Udhampur organised a one-day awareness camp on the flagship Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and Jammu & Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP) at Khoon. The camp was attended by Vice Chairperson DDC Udhampur Juhi Manhas Pathania as the chief guest.
Pathania appreciated KVIB’s efforts in organizing such awareness camps and described PMEGP and JKREGP as beneficial schemes for rural unemployed youth. She added that such camps help guide youth towards earning income through self-employment ventures under various schemes.
The aim of the camp was to create general awareness about KVIB schemes with a special focus on benefits under PMEGP. Pathania said that the government is committed to extending support for the development of the micro-industrial sector in Jammu & Kashmir. She urged educated youths to come forward and benefit from the scheme.
Sarpanchs Ramesh Chander Gupta, Mohan Lal Sharma, Raman Khajuria, Chain Singh; Naib Sarpanchs, Kewal Kumar, Namrata Bali; and Ex-Sarpanch Kuldeep Singh besides officials from KVIB and Handloom Department were present on the occasion.
