UK envoy Lindy Cameron pays courtesy visit to Gujarat CM Patel in Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], August 12 (ANI): The British High Commissioner to India, Lindy Cameron, paid a courtesy visit to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar on Monday, according to an official statement.

It was her first visit to the state after assuming office as the British High Commissioner in India.

In a conversation with the UK envoy, CM Patel said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the mutual relations between India and Britain are becoming stronger, and Gujarat is also committed to contributing to furthering it.

In this context, CM Patel said that the Prime Minister has realised the mantra of everyone’s development with the policy of taking everyone together, the statement said.

Chief Minister Patel said that Gujarat is a leading state in the renewable energy sector because it is not only has the world’s largest hybrid energy park under construction in Kutch but also has a global presence in emerging fields like green hydrogen.

In this regard, Lindy Cameron expressed her willingness to move forward with Britain in the renewable energy sector and told Chief Minister Patel about the number of Indian diaspora and Gujarati communities in Britain and their significant contribution to the business world there.

The British High Commissioner further expressed her eagerness to welcome and support industrial investors from Gujarat if they come to invest in Britain.

She thanked the Gujarat Chief Minister and the state government for the cooperation with the British enterprises operating in Gujarat.

Chief Minister Patel also said that the state government will provide sufficient support to British industries for necessary facilities, including setting up industries in the state.

In the conversation with the Chief Minister, the British High Commissioner gave the benefit of Britain’s expertise in cyber security in Gujarat and gave detailed details about the collaboration with NFSU in this regard.

Chief Minister Patel while giving details that Gujarat is making preliminary preparations for hosting the next Olympics-2036, expressed the feeling that Gujarat will benefit from the expertise of Britain in such planning.

CM Patel also consulted in the direction of how the infrastructure logistics for the Olympics can be made long-term for the people after the completion of the games.

In this courtesy meeting with the Chief Minister, the Chief Minister’s Additional Chief Secretary, MK Das, the Principal Secretary of Industries, Mamata Verma, the Commissioner of Industries, Sandeep Sangle and the MD of Index B Gaurang Makwana were also present.
