Union Minister inaugurates Job fair cum awareness programme at Riwayat banquet hall Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, February-23-:  Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate change and Labour and Employment, Bhupender Yadav today conducted an exhaustive tour of District Udhampur and inaugurated the Job fair cum awareness programme at Riwayat banquet hall Udhampur

DDC Chairperson, Udhampur Lal Chand, DDC Vice Chairperson, Juhi Manhas Pathania, Principal Secretary Forest, Ecology and Environment, Dheeraj Gupta, Commissioner Secretary, Labour and Employment, Sarita Chauhan, PCCF, Dr. Mohit Gera, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Krittika Jyotsna, President MC, Jogeshwar Gupta,  SSP, Dr. Vinod Kumar and other District Heads of various department were present.

After inauguration, the Union Minister accompanied by DDC Chairperson had a round of stalls put up by various government departments   for generating awareness regarding different schemes launched by the Government of India. While inspecting the stalls established by different departments highlighting schemes and products of their respective departments, the Union Minister also interacted with the officers and reviewed the progress of these schemes on ground.

The Union Minister also handed over key under “Mumkin” scheme and disbursement under Tejaswini scheme and distributed e-shram cards among the beneficiaries

While addressing the gathering, Union Minister said that in J&K many changes are visible in the field of development like completion of mega projects, progress of ongoing developmental works and implementation of different centrally sponsored schemes launched by the Government of India.  He congratulates Lieutenant Governor and his team for organizing mega job fairs across the UT. He said that the present dispensation is trying it’s best to bring Jammu and Kashmir on the glorious path of development.

The Union Minister expressed satisfaction over implementation of several government schemes on ground. He said that Government is committed to develop J&K UT and numerous innovative steps are being initiated in this regard which are yielding tangible results. Regarding the establishment of 3rd tier of Panchayati Raj system in the UT, the Union Minister observed that with the establishment of three tier democratic setup the developmental process accelerated with full zeal and dedication for the socio economic upliftment of common people. While highlighting the provisions of Union Budget 2023-24 presented in parliament, the Union Minister said that it lays down the vision for green growth across multiple sectors in the country.

The Union Minister said that the programme showcases continuous commitment of the Government towards providing job opportunities for the youth and ensuring citizen welfare. He informed that this will be a significant step forward towards fulfilling the continuous commitment of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India  to providing job opportunities for the youth and ensuring welfare of citizens.

He reiterated that Government of India launched various centrally sponsored schemes/ flagship programmes under the able leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India   like Jan Dhan, Ujjwala, Digital India etc.

He further added that another milestone of the government in the series of initiatives towards employment generation is to provide government jobs to 10 lakhs youth in the country. The entire target of providing 10 lakhs jobs will be completed in a time bound manner.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Krittika Jyotsna presented welcome address to all the dignitaries and briefed the Union Minister about the Job fair. The DC added that around 13 local companies in which 1000 unemployed youth of District Udhampur participated in the mega job fair.

Later, Union Minister also interacted with District Development Council members and District Officers at Conference Hall DC Office Complex Udhampur.

DDC Chairperson, Udhampur Lal Chand, DDC Vice Chairperson, Juhi Manhas Pathania, BDCs, DDCs  projected several demands and issues which include Provision for Increasing of MGNREGA wages, Bringing of Dhar Ladha and YugDhar and other places of area on tourism map, Pending liabilities under MGNREGA & 14th FC , Clearnce of file Concerning Forest issues, Scarcity of drinking water , Expedition of JJM, Land Compensation, Establishment of wooden depots & their necessary Classification under approved rates etc. .

The Union Minister informed that the Government is determined to provide enhanced basic facilities to people at their doorsteps” he affirmed while emphasizing the need of strong coordination between the administration and the people for effective implementation of various welfare and development programmes. He said that the Government is eagerly working to put Jammu and Kashmir on the path of development, prosperity and numerous innovative steps have been initiated in this regard which are yielded positive results. He called upon the officers to make dedicated efforts towards taking the benefits of all government schemes to the targeted sections of the society.

The Union Minister also e-inaugurated the foundation /construction of proposed residential accommodation (2BHK) for District Development Council /PRI members at Birwan Udhampur.

On the occasion, DC Udhampur gave sector wise detailed PowerPoint presentation of various ongoing developmental works Mega projects being executed by different departments in the district.

The Union Minister also visited Government Higher Secondary Tikri and took part in ceremonial tree plantation drive which he termed plantation as an integral part of conserving environment and protecting nature and the Mother Earth .The Union Minister also interacted with the FRA beneciaries and distributed Sewing Machines and Solar lights under green India mission among the beneficiaries.

PRI members projected various demands and issues like construction of Tractor road, Establishment of green & ceo friendly industry etc. The Union Minister assured that all their genuine demands will be redress at an earliest.
