Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras visits Samba under Public outreach Programme

Inaugurates multitude of development works, addresses aspirations of representatives & locals, visits progressive walnut processing unit

J&K is moving ahead with the mantra of Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas Sabka Vishwas Sabka Paryas : Union Minister

SAMBA, February 17: Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Pashupati Kumar Paras today as a part of central Government initiative for Public Outreach in J&K, visited border district samba assesses the development works and addresses the aspirations of representatives and locals. 

On the maiden day of two days visit in samba the Union Minister held a Public Outreach Programme at A1 resorts near, Thankdi Khui, Vijaypur. He listened to public representatives and also inspected departmental stalls. 

During the visit he was accompanied by District Development Council Chairman Keshav Dutt Sharma, Vice Chairman DDC Balwan Singh, Deputy Commissioner Samba Ms. Anuradha Gupta, SSP Benam Tosh and other officers. 

The Minister while underlining the commitment of central government said that for assessment and review of the development works while ensuring the benefits of centrally sponsored schemes are available among public, the tour programme are being organised regularly for UT of J&K. Minister also appreciated the accelerated pace of holistic development of the border district samba especially in roads networks, health infrastructures, education institutions, Industrial growth and complimented district administration Samba for same. 

The Union minister inspected the departmental stalls displayed on the occasion and reviewed the achievement and saturation of beneficiaries oriented schemes. He also exhorted upon locals to reap maximum benefits from the various central sponsored schemes. The departmental stalls installed on the occasion included Agriculture, Horticulture, Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, Social Welfare, Handicraft & Handloom, KVIB, Health, ICDS, Fisheries dept besides others. 

On the occasion Union Minister also distributed certificates and sanction letters among beneficiaries of ladli Beti scheme, self employment schemes, UDID cards, Ayushman Bharat cards, Horticulture schemes, Handicraft handloom schemes etc. 

Minister on the occasion also E-inaugurated Construction of sub centre, papper under District Capex & sub centre kullian under BADP project cost rs 1016.11lacs, Construction of 02 RCC bridges on Samba -Sumb road & improvement/ upgradation of link Road from Chak salarian to ramloo, raika to majua under nabard (District Plan) project cost rs 1601.68 Lacs.

Later, Union minister also visited the Hansraj Exports, Walnut Processing and grading unit in Bari-Brahmana Industrial Estate. It was informed that Walnut a traditional industry of J&K involves about 5 lakh people of this state at various levels from production to sales. 

With initiatives of Make In India, the Minister said that,  locally produced varieties are also being recognized across the globe with the help of various schemes under Ministry of food processing Industries including PMKSY, Mega Food Park, Cold Chain, Agro Processing Cluster, creation of backward and forward linkages besides other.
