University Institute of Engineering and Technology, kathua campus, University of Jammu organizes “CULTURAL FUNANZA” 2023
KATHUA, June 15: UIET, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu, hosted a memorable Cultural Fest “Funanza”, a student-driven activity that was packed with fun, frolic, and a myriad of scintillating performances by students, alumni and local artists. The principals and teachers of different Higher Secondary Schools of district Kathua were invited for the programme. It was an effort to highlight the campus and UIET to increase admissions and provide a platform for everyone who is in Kathua academic circles to connect as well as to encourage the local talents.
From dance performances to songs and much more, the entire audience was captivated by the awe-inspiring talent of the participants. The fest saw seniors and juniors coming together for a day of celebration and bonding and it worked as a platform to display this exuberance of talent. The programme turned out as a perfect balance of entertainment and engagement, with everyone coming together to make it a memorable event. The ambiance was lively, and the atmosphere was electric, filled with excitement and enthusiasm.
The program commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony by the esteemed guests, following with a plethora of activities. In addition to the in-house performers, the outside performers including Mr. Shivraj, Mr. Anshu Sharma, Mr. Rohit Kumar and Mr. Ankush Majotra made the event a great success.
Dr. Meenakshi Kilam expressed gratitude towards the special guests, media persons and for coming, joining and motivating the students of UIET in organizing such a wonderful programme. She further stressed on the role of extracurricular activities in encouraging students to explore their real strength that ultimately helps them to excel in their academic pursuits also. She also said that ‘FUNANZA- 2023’ is an opportunity to bring out talents and will help in developing the personality of the students. She further added that the programme was a tremendous success and it gave the new students a great start to their journey at UIET. Further, she said it provided them with an opportunity to build connections, showcase their talents, and create lasting memories that they will cherish for years to come. She added that the event was an excellent reflection of the vibrant and inclusive culture of UIET which encourages students to explore their passions and excel in their academic pursuits. She said that “FUNANZA-2023” helped to create social solidarity, cohesion, fostering social inclusion, capacity building and tolerance.
Dr. Sourabh Shastri, Incharge Coordinator, UIET, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu welcomed the gathering, special guests, alumni, faculty members and students. He also motivated them to put their best foot forward in the new journey of life that they have embarked on and asked the students to utilize their time in the best way to achieve the desired goals in their lives. He added that cultural fests provide a platform for students and are important in the holistic development of their personality.
