UP: CM Yogi to inaugurate Directorate of Command, Control Center of Traffic soon

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 29 (ANI): In a bid to make cities of Uttar Pradesh jam-free, the Yogi government is going to set up a Central Command and Control Center at the Police Headquarters (Signature Building) to address the issue of traffic jams in the major cities of the state.

The construction of this centre is about to be completed and will be inaugurated soon by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, as stated by ADG Traffic.
ADG Traffic, BD Poulsen, said that the Command and Control Center is being linked to the Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS) of major cities in the state, where the problem of traffic jams persists on the main routes. Local traffic police officials will be immediately informed about the jammed areas through Google Maps.

Moreover, instructions on how to eradicate traffic jams will be provided from the headquarters level. It will be possible to determine which road gets congested at what time by analyzing the data gathered. It will facilitate identifying the root causes of congestion and implementing solutions.

In addition, in the next phase, the rest of the cities, national highways, etc. will be connected.

The Command and Control Center’s work is being done on a war footing, according to ADG Traffic. Presently, it is being linked to the ITMS of the cities. After that, the Chief Minister will be requested to give time to start it.
