UT Level Science Exhibition Showcases Innovation and Excellence Under Rashtriya Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshani 2024

Leh, September 20, 2024 – The School Education Department UT, Ladakh, successfully hosted the UT-Level Science Exhibition as part of the prestigious Rashtriya Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshani – 2024. This annual event, aimed at fostering scientific curiosity and innovation among school students, saw an enthusiastic participation from young minds of both the district. The exhibition was divided into two categories: Senior (Classes 9-12) and Junior (Classes 6-8), highlighting the ingenuity and scientific aptitude of students from various government schools.

The exhibition featured an array of innovative projects focusing on critical global and regional issues, with themes such as Lifestyle for Environment, Sustainable Agriculture, Computational Thinking, Communication and Transportation, and Health. Each project showcased students’ ability to combine creativity with scientific knowledge, offering practical solutions and technological applications for real-world problems. The interactive displays captivated visitors, reflecting the potential of these young innovators to contribute meaningfully to the scientific community.

Director of School Education Sh. Tsering Paldan (JKAS), delivered the welcome address, extending warm greetings to the chief guest and other dignitaries. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of such exhibitions in promoting scientific literacy and inspiring the next generation of scientists, researchers, and thinkers.

The event was graced by Hon’ble Deputy Chairman of LAHDC, Leh, Tsering Angchuk, who served as the Chief Guest. In his keynote address, he lauded the students for their passion and commitment. He said, “It is incredibly encouraging to witness our students deeply engaged in scientific exploration. Initiatives like this are instrumental in nurturing a culture of innovation and critical thinking among the youth. I am particularly impressed with the high level of participation and the quality of the projects on display.”

Principal Secretary of School Education UT Ladakh, Sanjeev Khirwar (IAS) was the Guest of Honour during the occasion. He commended the students for their hard work and dedication. He congratulated the winners and encouraged all participants to continue their pursuit of excellence. He also added that the creativity and ingenuity on display today are a testament to the bright future of science and technology in the region. He urged all the participants to strive for even greater achievements as they prepare for the national-level exhibition.

The exhibition culminated in a grand prize distribution ceremony, where outstanding projects were recognized for their innovation and scientific rigor. The winning teams will proceed further for the natioanl-level exhibition, representing the UT Ladakh on a broader platform.

Principal DIET Leh Deldan Angmo, expressed her gratitude to the organizers, participants, and all attendees for making the event a grand success.
