UTRC meeting held at District Court Complex Kupwara

KUPWARA, FEBRUARY 13: In accordance with the guidelines of NALSA and under the directions of JK Legal Services Authority, Under Trial Review Committee (UTRC) meeting was today held at District Court Complex, Kupwara.

Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kupwara, Shazia Tabasum, who is also Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge Kupwara presided over the meeting, which was also attended by ADC Kupwara, ASP Kupwara, In-charge CMO Kupwara, SP Jail Kupwara, SP Jail Baramulla, and Public Prosecutor Kupwara & Legal Aid Defense Counsels Kupwara.

The meeting was aimed for identification and review of prisoners lodged in District Jail Kupwara, who are eligible to be considered for release under the SOPs issued by NALSA.

During the meeting, medical facilities provided to the jail inmates, condition of sick jail inmates, women offenders and other facilities provided to jail inmates was discussed.  

Later, the Principal District & Sessions Judge expressed gratitude to all the officers for their participation in the meeting.
