Uttar Pradesh DGP Prashant Kumar extends Independence Day greetings to police personnel
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India] August 15 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar hoisted the national flag at police headquarters and extended his greetings to the police personnel of the state and their families on the occasion of 78th Independence Day.
He highlighted the efforts of the state police to ensure a secure Uttar Pradesh.
“Greetings to every individual who holds faith in India on this special day. Independence Day greetings to the police personnel of Uttar Pradesh and their families as well,” the DGP, Uttar Pradesh, said.
He said, “The officers of the Uttar Pradesh Police have risked their lives to provide security in challenging situations. On this occasion, all the police personnel of Uttar Pradesh are being honoured today.”
While highlighting the works of the Uttar Pradesh government under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, he said, “Under the guidance of the Honourable Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh has successfully become a state free from corruption and fear. Today, Uttar Pradesh Police have broken the backbone of criminals. The network of mafias has been dismantled today. By reforming the justice process, criminals are now being punished promptly. Improvements in UP 112 have enhanced public communication today. UP 112 has initiated a public awareness campaign.”
He further stated, “The recruitment process for Uttar Pradesh Police constables is ongoing. The Uttar Pradesh government has launched several campaigns for women’s safety”.
“The Mission Shakti campaign has provided security to women. According to the NCRB, women in Uttar Pradesh are safe today. Recruitment of female police officers is being carried out for the safety of women. With the introduction of women’s pink booths and women’s police stations, women’s concerns are being heard immediately today”, he added.
Earlier today on the 78th Independence Day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the state’s achievements in the previous seven years, during his address to the public in Lucknow.
“If India has become the 5th largest economy from 10th place in the previous 10 years then Uttar Pradesh, in the previous 7 years, has also become India’s second largest state economy from the 6th or 7th economy. Now, Uttar Pradesh contributes 9.2% to India’s GDP and is on its way to becoming India’s growth engine.” CM Yogi said. CM Yogi further said that UP has given a “model of security and infrastructure.”
CM Yogi listed the works that have uplifted the poor.
“Every poor and needy person is being provided the benefits of government schemes in Uttar Pradesh. Over 56 lakh poor individuals have been given benefits under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. 1 crore 86 lakh cooking gas connections have been provided. Over 2 crore 65 lakh families are being given potable water. 150 lakh people are receiving free rations.” Yogi said.
