Uttarakhand Chief Minister Dhami reviews pothole-free campaign, urges use of local products for Deepotsav

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], October 23 (ANI): Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted a thorough review of the ongoing road pothole-free campaign at his residence on Wednesday morning. He obtained detailed updates from officials on the progress made so far.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister mandated strict action against those who fail to meet the road repair deadlines, sources said.

He also emphasised prioritising road repairs to ensure safe and smooth traffic for the public.

With Deepotsav approaching, CM Dhami urged officials to promote the use of local products among the state’s residents. He highlighted that this would support local entrepreneurs and artisans, aligning with the “Vocal for Local” and “Atma Nirbhar Bharat” initiatives. The Chief Minister stressed that using local products will boost the local economy and encourage self-reliance.

Meanwhile, Dhami has also directed that the State Foundation Day be celebrated as the Devbhoomi Silver Festival, with a framework for various events outlined in a meeting at his residence, according to an official release. The celebrations will include the inauguration of Uttarakhand Bhawan in Delhi on November 6, the Uttarakhand Pravasi Sammelan to be held in Dehradun on November 7, State Foundation Day on November 9, and programmes related to the Devbhoomi Silver Festival: Uttarakhand Silver Story, which will run until November 12.

The Chief Minister directed the concerned officials to ensure that the people of Uttarakhand, as well as migrants who love the land, along with youth, women, farmers, artisans, environmentalists, and state agitators, should all be involved as participants in the Devbhoomi Silver Festival: Uttarakhand Silver Story. He emphasised that Uttarakhand has been progressing rapidly in every field, and therefore, from November 6 to November 12, different segments of society should be invited on different days to engage in motivational activities related to them.

The Chief Minister said that he wants active participation from everyone in the development story of Uttarakhand and that everyone’s views are of great importance. He said that during this time, various cultural programmes, sports, healthy competitive quiz competitions, special conferences, and camps should be organised for women, farmers, vendors, cleaners, youth, and migrants so that everyone can witness Uttarakhand’s progress.

On November 6, Uttarakhand Bhawan will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in Delhi. The Uttarakhand Pravasi Sammelan will be organised in Dehradun on November 7, and motivational programmes related to the Devbhoomi Silver Festival: Uttarakhand Silver Story will take place from November 8 to 12. The Devbhoomi Silver Festival: Uttarakhand Silver Story will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister in Dehradun on November 9, 2024, and this year-long festival will conclude in Kumaon Mandal in 2025.
