Uttarakhand Governor pays tribute to freedom fighters, congratulates people on Independence Day
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], August 15 (ANI): On Independence Day, Governor Lt General Gurmeet Singh on Thursday hoisted the national flag at the Raj Bhavan, paid tribute to freedom fighters and congratulated people on the occasion.
On this occasion, the Governor said that the new India of the 21st century is full of possibilities and potential, which is moving rapidly on the path of sustainable
development. He said that along with this development journey, Uttarakhand is also moving forward on the path of continuous progress with strong resolve. Our state is one of the fastest developing states in the country today.
The Governor said that there are infinite possibilities in technology, AI, space, cyber, quantum, robotics science, efforts will have to be made to further strengthen our reach in these areas, so that we can succeed in becoming the leading state of the country. He said that let us take a pledge now that we will all give our best contribution in the development of the country and the state.
Earlier Uttarakhand Cheif Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also hoisted flag and celebrated the 78th Independence Day.
Dhami said “From the land of Baba Kedar, for the first time, the Prime Minister said that the third decade of the 21st century will belong to Uttarakhand. Today, we have to take oath that in the next 10 years, Uttarakhand will emerge as the best state of the country, as a self-reliant, developed state”.
The Chief Minister also announced various bunch of schemes to boost the development of the state.
The schemes include developing one local body in each district as a model body, increasing the pension scheme account from Rs 4000 to Rs 6000, to connect youth with skill development schemes, and developing a welfare scheme for senior citizens.
