Value of Vote in Indian Democracy: Debate competition held in GDC Kishtwar
KISHTWAR, April 20: A debate competition on the topic ” Value of Vote in Indian Democracy” was organised today by the Electoral Literacy Club, of Government Degree College in collaboration with the District Election Cell.
Dr Jyoti Parihar, the College Principal and Institute Nodal Officer SVEEP and Nodal Officer Electoral Literacy Club Prof Swami Raj Chauhan ( Head of the Department of Political Science) supervised the event attended by 100 students of which 08 students spoke on the topic.
Prof SR Chauhan read the welcome address and Key Mote address and highlighted the importance of Political Participation, Political Culture and Political System, He said these are closely interconnected with increasing Political Participation positive change occurring in our Political Culture which ultimately increase the efficiency of our Political System.
Dr Jyoti Parihar, Principal of GDC Kishtwar appreciated the Students for their sense of responsibility and consciousness of such social issues.
She assured ELC of full cooperation in their future endeavours. Riyaz Butt, District Coordinator SVEEP special invitee and Guest of Honour held that the young speakers had a really magnificent understanding regarding Political Participation and the Value of vote in our Democracy.
Later, the prize distribution was held and the function culminated with a formal Vote of thanks to all the stakeholders.
