VBSY Chronicles Rampyari’s homecoming through PMAY Scheme

KATHUA, DECEMBER 28: Prithi Chack a peaceful village in Kathua where lives Rampyari, an embodiment of resilience whose life has been profoundly changed by the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme. Her journey stands as a powerful testament to the impact of governmental initiatives in uplifting grassroots communities.

Rampyari vividly recalls the hardships her family endured living in a kacha house. Monsoon rains and extreme weather conditions were constant battles they faced, compromising their safety and well-being. The lack of a solid, permanent shelter not only exposed them to the elements but also brought a sense of vulnerability and discomfort.

“It was a struggle,” Rampyari shares, her voice tinged with gratitude and emotion as she reflects on the past. “Our kacha house made us endure difficulties during every rainy season and the biting cold. It was more than just physical discomfort; it affected our dignity and morale.” The PMAY scheme became the beacon of hope for Rampyari and her family. The opportunity to have a pucca house through this initiative not only lifted their spirits but also provided a sense of security and dignity that had long eluded them.

“I have no words to thank the Prime Minister,” Rampyari expresses with heartfelt gratitude. “His vision and the implementation of the PMAY scheme made our dream of a pakka house a reality. It’s more than just bricks and mortar; it’s about reclaiming our dignity and breaking free from the shackles of uncertainty.” she said with a beaming smile.

Narrating her life’s transformation during ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubani’ segment of the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, Rampyari’s words echo the sentiments of many in similar situations, where a solid, permanent home means much more than just a structure. It signifies stability, pride, and the assurance of a better future.

In her journey towards realizing this dream, Rampyari extends her appreciation to the PRIs (Panchayati Raj Institutions) and the Rural Development Department for their unwavering guidance and support throughout the process. Their assistance and timely advice played a crucial role in navigating the complexities of availing the benefits of the scheme.

Today, Rampyari stands as a beacon of hope in her community, a living testament to the transformative power of initiatives like PMAY. Her story resonates as a reminder of the impact a home can have on restoring dignity, providing security, and fostering a sense of belonging.

As Rampyari looks ahead with newfound optimism, her story stands as an inspiration, showcasing the immense positive changes that can be brought about by inclusive government schemes that uplift the lives of those in need.
