Vehicle recovered from Drug Peddler seized under NDPS Act in Jammu’s Bishnah

JAMMU, 25 January 2024: Information was received at Police Station Bishnah regarding 1 drug peddler who was involved in the narcotics trade for a long time.

On this, special police teams of PS Bishnah led by SHO PS Bishnah did strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV footages of the area finally arrested the accused peddler namely Liyaqat Ali @ Gajja S/O Hussain Mir R/O Sikanderpur Kothey, Tehsil Bishnah, Distt. Jammu and heroin was recovered from him.

On this, a case FIR No. 07/2024 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at PS Bishnah and an investigation was started.

During questioning accused confessed his involvement in various narcotic trades for a long time and recently he purchased a car bearing number JK21B-4077 at the price of Rs 5 lakh 30 thousand.

However, the accused was not able to justify the legal source from where he earned this amount. Therefore in exercise of powers conferred upon investigating officer under Section 68-E with Section 68-F of NDPS Act, 1985 the said vehicle has been seized.

Further investigation of the case is going on.
