Vice Chairperson DDC Bandipora launches sale of fruit plants
ADDC inspects Horticulture Nurseries
BANDIPORA, March 04: Vice-Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Bandipora, Kounsar Shafeeq along with Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Bandipora, Ali Afsar Khan on Saturday formally inaugurated the sale and distribution of fruit plants.
The duo visited fruit plant nursery Bandipora and formally started the sale cum distribution of various fruit plants for the year 2023 by distributing medium density apple cultivars viz, Gala Redlum, Jeromine among the various farmers covering an area of 3 hectare in zone Bandipora under the scheme Capex Area expansion.
Chief Horticulture Officer Bandipora informed that an area of 15 hectares will be covered under the scheme in district Bandipora with the assistance of 80% subsidy. He urged the orchardists to avail the benefit of this scheme.
He also informed that 47 plants are planted in an area of one kanal at a distance of 3x 3.5 m.
He said under Area Expansion scheme, the farmers having feasible land for plantation with area of one kanal to 40 kanals can avail the benefit.
He also said the government shall provide subvention on 20:80 subsidy ratio with 20 percent to be paid by the farmer and 80 percent by the government.
On the occasion, VC DDC interacted with the farmers and urged them to avail the benefit of this scheme to expand their orchards.
ADDC sought further awareness about the scheme so that maximum people are benefited during the current season. He inspected nurseries of various plant varieties and took detailed review on the development of new varieties.
