Vice Chairperson DDC Udhampur for meeting staff deficiencies in far flung areas
UDHAMPUR, July 24 Juhi Manhas Pathania, Vice Chairperson District Development Council today met several delegations here at her office in DC Office Complex.
The delegations projected a range of demanding provision of drinking water, adequate power supply, road connectivity, meeting paucity of staff in schools of far flung areas of District Udhampur.
DDC Latti, Pinky and DDC Ramnagar-II, Jattu Ram sought filling of posts left vacant after recent transfer of Teachers and masters. They said that the ATD has almost emptied the far flung areas of Chanunta, Ghordi, Ramnagar, Kulwanta where no replacement has been made after the transfers of teachers and masters.
Mrs. Pathania, took up the issue with the Department of School Education, underscoring the need for provision of adequate staff schools in far flung areas and staff-deficient schools, while making a pointed reference towards recent transfers which have evoked much furor amongst the public and students community. She pointed out that scores of high schools in the far flung pockets of district Udhampur have been left staff-less and headless too.
She raised a viable point with CEO Udhampur over violation of parameters spelled out by national education policy which mandates that pupil teacher ratio should be maintained at 30:01.
Another spirited deputation from Block Khoon led by Sham Lal Panch called upon the Vice Chairperson regarding the damage of houses, roads and agriculture due to recent heavy rains and floods.
The DDC Vice-chairperson took up the issue with the administration and called for immediate restoration of civil amenities like power, drinking water, ration supplies and spurring up human and animal healthcare facilities in the area so that the miseries and hardships of the people over here could be curtailed.
She also called the Department of PWD and PMGSY for immediate repair of the damaged roads and clearance of roads block due to landslides
Various other delegations led by PRI members had detailed discussions with the Vice Chairperson regarding key developmental issues pertaining to their areas including stalled works under JJM due to forest or court complications, restoration of blocked roads, immediate doling out of compensation for losses of human lives and properties lost during recent devastating floods, especially in hilly pockets of Udhampur.
She took up these issues with the concerned departments and instructed them to provide the viable solutions to the people. She instructed the Department of Jal Shakti to immediately restore the pipelines with provision of water tankers to areas where restoration will take time.
She also took up the matter of ‘all-of-sudden doubling of electricity bills in Tehsil Majalta’ with the Department and called for immediate corrective measures.
She assured delegations of proper redressal of all their demands.
