Vice Chairperson DDC Udhampur meets public Delegations
Calls for up-gradation of Roads in Ramnagar – Basantgarh – Dudu – Chenani areas
UDHAMPUR, September 25: Vice Chairperson District Development Council (DDC) Udhampur Juhi Manhas Pathania met several public delegations to listen to their demands and issues.
Interacting with a deputation hailing from the Dudu-Basantgarh area led by the local PRIs, specially Pinki Devi DDC Latti Marothi, underscored the need to upgrade Ramnagar to Basant garh to Dudu to Chenani Roads on mission mode.
She urged for the utilization of the available funds under CRF I/II, PMGSY Upgradation and PWD and noted that the lackadaisical approach of the contractor agencies is seriously impairing vehicle movement. She also said an alternative road from Chakal to Katorni to Chakka shall also be constructed to address the snow-related complicacies at Trungliyan.
She also called for action against defaulting contractor firms and ensuring that the sanctioned money is utilized diligently. She also called for bracing up of legal teams as two public utility projects have been stalled due to cases pending in the High Court. She informed that Ramnagar to Chatrari CRF-I road (costing Rs 18 cr) & CRF – II (Costing Rs 10 crores), stand sanctioned and major part of works too executed on spot. Referring to Ramnagar Dudu (Chatrari to Majouri) road(costing Rs 9.25 cr) and Dudu to Keya road (costing Rs 9.71 cr), she said works on these projects are in progress but there is a need for prompt execution with full focus on quality and time bound completion. She regretted that other two roads on the axis, Sira More to Shivgali (Rs 51 cr approx) and Shiv Gali to Basantgarh road (Rs 5.33 cr) have been held up in court litigations. She called upon the district administration and legal agencies for earliest resolution of the issues and starting of the works on these roads.
Several other delegations also called on the Vice Chairperson to project a range of public issues including provision of drinking water, electricity supply, road connectivity, paucity of staff at various schools.
A spirited deputation from Thial of Majalta Tehsil called upon Mrs Pathania to take up the issue of acute shortage of staff in various Animal Husbandry Units in the area especially LDC Thial. They also put forth the demand for repair of the lane from main bazar Thial to the Health and Wellness Centre Thial. Mrs. Pathania took up the issue of the staff shortage with the Director Animal Husbandry and assured the deputation of a favourable action.
A deputation from the Pathwar area of Tehsil Majalta called upon the Vice Chairperson regarding the installation of a new sub-station in view of low voltage. Mrs. Pathania took up the issue with the Executive Engineer EM&RW.
Another deputation from Kothi area of Udhampur called upon the Vice Chairperson regarding the staff shortage in GPS Kothi.
She took up these issues with the concerned departments and instructed them to provide viable solutions to the people.
During the meeting, deputations raised various issues and demands regarding water, electricity, sports, educational, health, infrastructure amenities including demand for electric poles, water supply.
She assured delegations of proper redressal of all their demands.
Besides other grievances were raised to which the Vice Chairperson gave a patient hearing.
