Vice- Chancellor Felicitate JU Roller Inline Hockey &Wushu Teams

Jammu, February 24- Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu today felicitated the University of Jammu  Roller Inline Hockey (M) team players for winning the Gold medal of the All India Inter-University Roller Inline Hockey Tournament 2022-23 organized by the Andhra University Visakhapatnam.

S. Jaideep Singh of Jammu University was declared as the highest goal scorer and best goal awardee of the tournament.

The Vice-chancellor also felicitated the University of JammuWushu (M&W) team which took part in the All India Inter-UniversityWushu Championship 2022-23 organized by the Chandigarh University, Mohali w,e.f  5-12/02/23.The University of Jammu Wushu team won 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.

Sh. Hritik Singh Charak won gold, Sh. Gurmeet Singh Manhas won the silver and Pratham& Rohan Singh won a bronze medal for the JU Wushu team.

While addressing the players, Vice-Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the Directorate of Sports &Physical Education and its team, which regularly bring laurels to the University of Jammu. He also acknowledged that despite of limited resources, the players are giving their best in the Sports. He also announced that in the coming session, these hardships shall be addressed, as the Sports Policy for the players of the University of Jammu has been prepared and shall be implemented very soon.

He further, instructed the Director Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba to immediately look into the basic needs and requirements of the players, so that a conducive environment for players is created.
