Vigilance Awareness Week: Day-long Program Organised For Stakeholders in Rajouri
RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 02: In the spirit of Vigilance Awareness Week, a comprehensive and impactful day-long awareness program was orchestrated by the Anti Corruption Bureau in Rajouri, exemplifying a united front against corruption.
The event was held in the Conference Hall of the PWD Dak Bungalow to bring together stakeholders from different walks of life and sow the seeds of integrity and emphasize its vital role in strengthening the society.
Under the overarching theme, “Say No to Corruption, Commit to the Nation,” the event unfurled a tapestry of discussions and initiatives in the relentless pursuit of a corruption-free India. The event was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal.
Throughout the event, numerous government-driven measures to combat corruption took center stage. These included the transition to e-Governance, the transparent disbursement of welfare benefits through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) initiative, the adoption of E-tendering in public procurement, and the simplification of procedures and systems. These measures collectively underscored the unwavering commitment of the Government to uproot corruption from its very core.
Amidst the enlightening discussions of the Vigilance Awareness Program, a culturally rich performance took center stage, delivering a powerful message against corruption. Through the seamless blend of dance and storytelling, this poignant presentation emphasized that corruption corrodes the soul of the nation and hinder progress. It served as a compelling call to action, uniting the audience in their commitment to integrity and a collective aspiration for a corruption-free society, showcasing the profound impact of culture in shaping our values and national character.
While addressing the event, SSP Amrit Pal Singh, highlighted the pivotal role of the Anti Corruption Bureau in curbing corruption. He fervently called upon the stakeholders to actively join hands in this noble endeavor. His words resonated with the essence that awareness and participation of stakeholders are the cornerstones of an effective anti-corruption campaign. He urged the stakeholders to collaborate with the government, emphasizing the zero-tolerance stance of the Government against corruption and its steadfast pursuit of transparent governance that reaches every citizen, regardless of their position in society.
SSP ACB, Kulwant Singh Jasrotia, further illuminated the multifaceted approach of the Government to eradicating corruption. He stressed that awareness and public engagement are vital components of this fight, and he passionately called for a united front against corruption. Corruption, he likened to a termite, silently eroding the foundations of our nation. His resounding message was clear – the public and the government must join forces to purge the nation of this scourge.
Speaking during the event, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Vikas Kundal eloquently expressed that Vigilance Awareness Week serves as a platform to raise public consciousness about the dangers of corruption and to rally all stakeholders to actively participate in preventing bribery.
Corruption, he articulated, is a significant roadblock to development, and the need of the hour is collective action to eliminate it. He stressed the importance of strict adherence to the rules and regulations of the Vigilance Department and urged concerned officers to educate employees and the public about the dire consequences of corruption through workshops and mass campaigns.
In closing, the Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal commended the Anti Corruption Bureau for its tireless efforts in preventing and investigating corruption-related cases and bringing wrongdoers to justice. He fervently encouraged them to maintain their zeal and commitment to stamping out corruption from the very fabric of our society.
