Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra Urban commences from Batote
RAMBAN, DECEMBER 12: The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) Urban, a nationwide campaign to spread awareness about the various developmental schemes and initiatives of the Government of India, commenced from Batote in Ramban district, here today.
BDC Chairman, Batote, Rajeshwar Bhagat, DDC Batote, Jagvir Dass, and Tehsildar Batote, Vijay Kumar Sharma welcomed the IEC Van in Batote.
A grand rally of locals, officers and officials from various departments and students was also organized which passed through the main Bazaar and culminated at Dak Bunglow Batote.
While addressing the gathering Tehsildar Batote, highlighted the achievements and benefits of the various flagship schemes of the Government of India towards the ultimate goal of Vikshit Bharat.
On the first day, a large number of people joined the yatra which focused on attaining saturation of the government’s flagship schemes.
The focus of the Yatra was to reach out to the people, create awareness and provide benefits of welfare schemes like sanitation facilities, essential financial services, electricity connections, access to LPG cylinders, housing for the poor, food security, proper nutrition, reliable healthcare, clean drinking water, etc.
As part of the yatra, various government departments set up stalls to provide citizens on the spot services like free health checkup facilities, distribution of Plant Saplings by the Forest Department, awareness regarding Agricultural & Horticulture related Schemes and loans under PM SVANidhi. Scores of people benefitted from these camps during the period. During the programme, participants took the Viksit Bharat Sankalp pledge to make India a developed and self-reliant nation by the year 2047.
Videos of beneficiaries of various departmental schemes under Meri Kahani Meri Zubani were also played and Cultural Programmes organized along with online Quiz.
Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 15, 2023 from Jharkhand. The yatra will cover over 2.55 lakh Gram Panchayats and over 3,600 urban local bodies by January 25, 2024, touching every district of the country.
Among others, District Nodal Officer I&B, Khursheed Yousuf, along with officers from various departments attended the day-long event.
