Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra Urban commences in Udhampur City
UDHAMPUR, December 11: The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) Urban, the nationwide campaign to spread awareness about the various developmental Schemes and initiatives of the Government of India, reached Udhampur city here today.
A grand welcome was organised to receive the VBSY Van with garlands, by Additional District Development Commissioner ( ADDC), Ghan Sham Singh along with officers and officials from various departments. While addressing the gathering, he highlighted the achievements and benefits of the various flagship schemes of the Government of India directed towards realizing the ultimate goal of Vikshit Bharat.
On the opening day of the yatra in the city, camps were held in Dabber Chowk (Mini Stadium) and Riwayath Hall. A large number of people joined the yatra which focused on attaining saturation of the flagship government schemes.
The focus of the Yatra was also to reach out to people, create awareness and provide benefits of welfare schemes like sanitation facilities, essential financial services, electricity connections, access to LPG cylinders, housing for the poor, food security, proper nutrition, reliable healthcare, clean drinking water, etc.
As part of the yatra, various government departments set up stalls at each location to provide citizens on the spot services like free health check ups , facility to get new Aadhaar cards issued or the existing ones updated, and loans under PM SVANidhi yojana. Scores of people benefitted from these camps during the period. During the programmes at various locations, participants took the Viksit Bharat Sankalp pledge to make India a developed and self-reliant nation by the year 2047.
Videos of beneficiaries of various departmental schemes under Meri Kahani Meri Zubani were also played and cultural programmes organised along with Quiz. Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 15, 2023 from Jharkhand. The yatra will cover over 2.55 lakh Gram Panchayats and over 3,600 urban local bodies by January 25, 2024, touching every district of the country.
Among others, Sh. Khursheed Yousuf, District Nodal I&B , Sh. Amit Sharma, Nodal officer ULB , along with officers from various departments attended the day-long event.
