Vipul Bali seeks LG J&K’s intervention to expose nexus between book sellers and private schools
JAMMU, April 07, 2023:- Apni Party Youth Wing, Provincial President Jammu, Vipul Bali has appealed to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for his personal intervention to curb the loot of private schools in Jammu.
In his statement to the press, Bali said that the parents have been put to the additional burden of buying costly books from selected shops by the schools of their children.
“These books and other stationery items are sold at higher rates due to the nexus of schools and booksellers in Jammu. The parents are forced to go to these shops and buy uniforms, books, and other stationery items which is unjustified and therefore, the authorities should act tough against the nexus,” he said.
He said that the department concerned has not taken any action except issuing notices.
“If any school is panelized for forcing parents to buy books and other things from a particular shop, all the private schools will come on the right track and no parent will be overburdened with the additional fee structure in the name of admission fee and buying books etc,” he said.
He demanded personal intervention of LG J&K so that the school department and the nexus between booksellers and some of the private schools can be exposed.
“The schools have become highly commercialized. They are charging huge admission fees despite directions from the Govt to follow certain rules. However, no one is worried about the rules but parents are compelled to act as per the wishes of the private schools. The Govt action is to end the unnecessary harassment of the parents as well as of the students,” he said.
